FAIL!

Sigh. And just when everything was going so well. I can't help but think that if I had remembered my appointment with Jeanne last week I probably would have handled this weekend better. I can't believe I missed it! Gack!

So for background:

My daughter made a huge stain on the (NEW) carpet in her room. She managed to get it out - after fighting about it - about a month ago. At that time I had booked the carpet cleaners to come in, but then agreed to postpone it since she had used the hand held and had cleaned it up.

I re-booked for November 2nd.

She knew this.

So on the weekend when I asked what her plan was for moving everything out of her room so the cleaners could come she freaked on me.

The best comment of the day: "You didn't give me enough notice!" A month? A MONTH?? A month is not enough notice?? Then what is? Exactly?

Oh, and thinking back this one is tied for first as well: "It doesn't need to be cleaned. Stuff like that and doing dishes... you only do that because society expects you to, they don't REALLY need to be done, you are such a snob."

Um. NO. I am pretty much the anti-snob. I don't care what 'society' thinks. The carpet is dirty and needs to be cleaned because dirty carpets wear out faster. The dirty dishes need to be washed at least every couple of days so that we have clean dishes to eat off of.

And then come out all the nasty name calling moments. "You remember that thing you did THREE YEARS AGO??? Well I still hate you for that! AND that thing you did TWO years ago? Hate you for that still too! And I'm going to hate you forever!"

"I hate your mother [her grandmother] and I hate your father [her grandfather], and I HATE YOU!"

Anyway, in the end we had a huge meltdown. I broke her mirror. She told me she hated me (again, many times). She tried to physically block me from coming back into the house after putting the laundry out and I smacked her.

Great. The entire weekend?

ONE BIG ASS FAIL.
